Escaped from the labs: New Android Client

It appeared in the Android Market last week, and, today it’s official: Boingo’s Wi-Fi client for Android has escaped from the labs. The Android application will help you login to any Boingo hotspot, and we’re very pleased that it can also notify you proactively when you’re in a hotspot, with no more guess work.

To install the app, go to Market on your phone and search for Boingo.

With this official release support is now available. For any questions or comments, please email mobilesupport@boingo.com

Note that the neatest hotspot mapping function is not yet available as part of the client. Just install the Boingo Hotspot Map for Android Beta to get mapping support.

Escaped from the labs: New iPhone client

The latest version of the iPhone client, 1.0.0019, just went live in Apple’s App Store. This version addresses some bugs that would sometimes result in incorrect status messages, and logs in more easily on more networks.

Windows Mobile Beta

If you have a Boingo Mobile account and a Windows Mobile phone, you should try out this latest version of our software. We made significant upgrades in the UI and usability and fixed some bugs. Any Windows Mobile 5.0 or newer device should be sufficient, of course you do need a Wi-Fi equipped device.
